Drop Off!

It's easy! Bring your tagged items to Soccer City on WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 17 We will be there to guide you! Then wait for your check, 2 weeks after the sale ends! We inspect AFTER drop off to avoid long lines so you can be in and out quickly.

DROP OFF

Drop Off is on Wednesday, October 17 from 1pm - 7pm

Our consignors love that our sale is clean and super organized. Racks and tables will have signs, making your drop-off process a breeze. Please follow the following instructions to help you prepare for Drop Off:

  • A Sign-up Genius link with drop-off times will be emailed to all registered consignors 6 weeks before the sale. Our working moms love this and we have after work hours on Drop Off day.   
  • Allow yourself 30-60 minutes, depending on your inventory, for check-in and putting items on the sales floor.    
  • Please bring your consignor waiver to drop off.                                                   
  • When you arrive please bring one item in to "check in". Then return to your car to get your remaining items.                    
  • You will place all of your items out on the sales floor where we will have signs directing you where to put your items.ie.boys/girls clothes, toys, strollers, accessories etc.                        
  • Don't forget to pick up your pre-sale pass when you check-in.                          
  • No infants, strollers allowed on Drop Off day.                                                          
  • We do have limited rolling racks to help with drop off but you can also bring your own to make it super quick. Also think wagons, carts, anything on wheels!                                                    
  • All items will be inspected after drop-off. Stained, damaged, worn-out items will be pulled from the sales floor.

PICK UP

Pick Up is on Sunday, October 21 from 6:30pm - 7:45pm. We will email you a sign up genius for pick up times by Friday, October 19.

Please follow the instructions for pick up. You will need to check the clothing(on racks) AND accessories(on tables) section for your items that will be all together by your consignor number. Please also check the missing tag and "no thank you" rack/table.

Any item not marked for donation will need to be picked up by consignors on Sunday by 7:45pm. All items not picked up will be donated to our local charity partner, The Kid's Pantry. No Exceptions!

Step 1-Register to consign

EVEN IF YOU HAVE CONSIGNED BEFORE, you must register for OUR sale every season. Here's how:

  • Login to your consignor profile(or create a new one if you are new)              
  • Locate our sale "Schaumburg", search by zipcode if necessary.                          
  • Click "sign up" and check the "consignor" box. Also click the "volunteer" box if you plan to help out at the sale to earn a higher percentage.

That's It! You should now receive a confirmation email with lots of info about the sale and consigning.

You can now join our facebook consignor group which has even more information from others who will be consigning at the sale.

Step 2-Gather items/supplies

  • Go from room to room, check the basement, play room, garage, outdoor toys, baby gear. Collect your gently used kids' and maternity items. Set aside the items that are too worn, have stains, missing pieces, and donate or recycle these items.                                
  • Organize by category(clothing by gender and size), toys, baby gear) and get ready to tag at home using our online tagging system.                            
  • Collect supplies you will need to tag including hangers, magic erasers, stain sticks, febreeze, safety pins or tagging gun, cardstock, curling ribbon or zip ties, ziploc bags, batteries.

Unacceptable items

  • Any recalled item that has not been fixed according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Check with the CPCS.org for recalls and fixes available. No cribs with drop down sides.                                                       
  • No crib Bumpers                                          
  • No underwear that is not new and in original packaging                                   
  • No stuffed Animals                                       
  • Toys, puzzles that are not complete, absolutely no missing pieces!                 
  • Toys without batteries and that are not in working order.                                       
  • No overly worn clothing or with stains, rips, pilling or tears.                                         
  • No Clothing over 6 years old.                       
  • No adult Clothing(we do accept junior clothing and maternity)                            
  • No used bottle nipples, used pacifiers, used mesh feeding supplies. Please only new in original packaging.

Step 3-Clean and Prepare items

ALL ITEMS MUST BE CLEAN AND FREE FROM STAINS, TEARS AND EXCESSIVE WEAR OR USE!! PREPARE AND TAG YOUR BEST ITEMS....ANY ITEMS WITH STAINS OR EXCESSIVE WEAR WILL BE PULLED FROM THE FLOOR SO DON'T BOTHER TAGGING ITEMS THAT CAN'T BE SOLD!

CLOTHING

  • Must look and smell clean. Wash all clothing and use a stain stick if necessary. Put wrinkled clothing in the dryer with a wet washcloth or iron heavily wrinkled clothing.                           
  • Hang all clothing. Hangers can be plastic tube, department store, wire,or pant clip hangers.                                                  
  • The hanger hook should point to the left like a question mark when looking at it. Hang size 0-6 clothing on child-size hangers and sizes 7-18 on adult-size hangers. Old Navy and department stores are great places to get free hangers (they throw away hangers daily!).  WalMart & Dollar stores sell child-sized, plastic, multi-pack tube hangers at a great price.                         
  • Hanging pants: Attach safety pins through the middle of the waist band and to the TOP part of the hanger to ensure that pant will not slide. If you can find them, the best hangers to use for pants are clip hangers like the ones used in department stores. Save them when you shop! Pants folded over the hanger will not be accepted.                                    
  • Hanging sets: Most sets can be placed on one hanger. Safety pin through both clothing pieces AND around the top of hanger (this will prevent pants from weighing down the shirt and causing a possible tear). DO NOT safety pin pants to the bottom of the shirt OR bottom of the hanger. Pants should hang on the outside of the shirt, so both pieces can be viewed easlily. If multiple hangers are needed, use rubberbands or zip ties to attach hangers together.        
  • Remember: Clothing is sold on hangers, so hangers will not be returned to consignor. Unsold clothing will be returned on hangers.

SHOES

  • Must be like new! Please bring your best! We will not accept shoes with excessive wear, scruffs, dirty or worn down soles. Magic erasers help clean shoes really well and some shoes you can put in the washing machine.              
  • Pairs of shoes should be secured together with zip ties or curling ribbon. If they cannot be secured together you can put them in ziploc bags.

TOYS, BOOKS, GAMES, PUZZLES

  • Clean all toys and baby equipment thoroughly.  Please test to make sure that toys and equipment are working properly. Battery operated toys must include working batteries (these can be purchased inexpensively at local discount stores).  Magic erasers take crayon off of most toys and desks etc.                                   
  • Package:  Keeping tags and multiple items attached is essential for your items to sell. Bag all small parts belonging to toys/equipment in ziploc bags and tape the bag shut with clear packing tape. Fasten the bag securely to the item with ribbon, tape, or zip ties. Items must include ALL working parts.     
  • Boxes for games and puzzles should be taped shut, use painters tape so it doesn't damage the box.                         
  • Use clear plastic wrap around wooden puzzles to keep them together.       

 The following items will display and sell better if they are hung:

  • Bedding, receiving blankets, children's comforters. Sheets can be in a ziploc bag with the size clearly marked.
  • Swaddlers
  • Snuglis and Wearables
  • Diaper Bags
  • Backpacks
  • Accessories- socks, hats, tights, gloves, bows, ties, belts, new packaged underwear etc. These can be in ziploc bags, clearly marked and we will have accessory hooks for them to hang on a rack.                                             

LARGE ITEMS, BABY GEAR, STROLLERS

  • Clean, clean and clean again. These items sell best if they are clean. Think about if you would want to put your baby/child in this bouncy seat, exersaucer or stroller. Absolutely no crumbs. Many of the covers come off and you can machine wash.

 

Step 4-Enter tags/print

  • CLICK HERE to login to your JBF account. Make sure you are signed up for our event. Even if you have consigned before you must "sign up" for the current sale.                                      
  • Once logged in, enter "Enter my Tags"   
  • Use the tagging website how to videos if you are unsure how to enter your items but it's so easy. You can find these videos under the HELP tab.You can use rapid entry to make it easier, so tag all clothing by gender and size together using the rapid entry option. Enter books together, toys together etc. The system will autopopulate categories and size so you just fill in the description and price.                              
  • Use our Pricing Guidellines to help with entering your items. We recommend pricing 1/3 of retail price. Think about what you would pay for that item at the sale. It is also recommended to allow your items to go to 50% on the last day of the sale for selling success. It is up to you to either donate your unsold items or pick them up after the sale. 

Guidelines to print your tags:

  • YOU MUST "SELECT ALL" or "SELECT ALL ON A PAGE" on the left side at the top of your entered tags in order to print
  • Use white 8.5 X 11 CARDSTOCK, 67lb minimum.  No regular copy paper will be accepted.

  • Use "Print Tags".

  • Adobe Acrobat must be installed.

  • Paper orientation must be portrait.

  • Please print with best quality to ensure the items can be read by scanners.

  • No handwritten information will be accepted on tags.

  • Having trouble printing? Try another browser!

  • Or Save the file as PDF and take it to your local copy store to print the tags.

  • Email Sally at sallyconley@jbfsale.com if you still cannot print your tags.

Step 5-Attach tags and store

  • Attach tags to your clothing using safety pins or a tagging gun. Please see tagging gun guidelines HERE so you don't put holes in your clothing. Tags attached with safety pins should be attached to the upper right hand corner of the item as you face the item. Tags attached with a tagging gun should be placed through the tag of the item or through a seam, NOT straight through the fabric.                                                
  • Attach tags to your toys or other items using safety pins, tagging gun or packing tape. Do not place tape over the barcode as it makes the barcodes difficult for our scanners to read. If you must place tape over a barcode please make sure that there are no wrinkled in the tape over the barcode.            
  • Store your items in a clean, dry place until you are ready to drop off at our sale. Put a dryer sheet in the box/bin to keep your items smelling fresh.              
  • We have lots of tagging how to videos to help with all aspects of preparing and tagging your items.                                  
  • Tagging Gun: If you are interested in ordering a tagging gun, you can find great deals on ebay and Amazon. Dennison and Arrow seem to be good brands (get the 2" size barbs). Remember to be very careful when using a tag gun and tag through the size tag or inside lip in the neck area, since we will not accept clothing with holes.   • Safety pins: Please use 1" or larger safety pins: NO straight pins or small gold safety pins.

Perfect Consignor

We appreciate those consignors who spend the extra time at home ensuring that their items are stain free and tagged correctly and want to reward them for their hard work!

If you have less than three stained, damaged, or unacceptable items pulled at drop off or during the sale (and zero recalled items), you will be added to a list which allows you to skip inspection during drop off at the next sale. This saves you lots of time at Drop Off!

REMEMBER: Perfect Consignor status is earned in each sale. Spend extra time inspecting items at home so that you earn perfect status for the next sale!

Mommy Mart/Room Decor

Household items that other families will use (no knick knacks please).  You may consign storage solutions (baskets, bin, shelving), small kid's furniture (no upholstered items), decor (kids' lamps, kids' wall hangings, no antiques), and kitchen items (small appliances, utensils, etc.).

Please Note: For this category we cannot donate after the sale. No donation possible.

Mommy Mart items must be picked up by the Consignor after the sale. We are not able to donate these items after the sale.

Package:  If selling multiple pieces together, be sure that all pieces are secured together.

Price:  Price to sell!  These items are not the primary reason shoppers come to JBF, so the price low!

Tag:  Secure the tag to the item to ensure that the tag does not fall off during the sale and so that item is not damaged when the tag is removed after purchase.

 

Furniture

We welcome Bassinets, Pack n plays, Toddler beds, Rocking chairs, Cribs, Changing tables, Cradles, Co-sleepers, Small book shelves, Gliders

We do not accept cribs manufactured before July 26, 2011, drop side cribs, any recalled item that has not been repaired, drawn on furniture, Nap Nanny’s.

All items brought for sale are inspected on-site to ensure they come under the current safety standards.

Track your sales daily

At the end of each sale day, you can see how many items you have sold by logging in to your JBF account through myjbftags.com.

Once you sign up to consign, you will receive emails to guide you through the whole consigning process and help with tracking your daily sales. 

School/organization fundraising

Your school or organization can make money for PTO's, School/sports trips, tuition assistance, etc.

Sell kid's items that your school or organization families would otherwise donate or give away. It's so easy to do this together as a group. Email sallyconley@jbfsale for more information. All unsold items can be donated after the sale so it's a win/win for everyone!
